I didn’t know what to call this really. But as it baked off and the sweet smell of cinnamon and brown sugar filled the house, I was certain they are peach and apple dumplings. 🙂
What you need
: Pie Crust
: Apples or peaches. I made both.
: Brown sugar
: Cinnamon and/or nutmeg.
: Twine or baking string
Roll out the pie crust.
Put the sliced peaches/apples on top and magically sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon,
Place a slice of butter over fruit slices.
Gather up the dough into a little dumpling.
Secure with baking twine.
Follow pie package instructions. Bake at 375 deg F for about 30-40 mins, or until crust is golden brown. Be careful. My peach dumpling looked ready to burst with steamy hot filling.
Top with vanilla bean gelato, berries and mint! Yum and so pretty! 😀
